Axial contrast-enhanced CT in an infant shows a conglomeration of partially necrotic inflamed lymph nodes (black) in the left neck with edema of the surrounding tissues. The rim-enhancing collections are typical of developing abscesses. Note the effacement (but not thrombosis) of the adjacent left internal jugular vein (blue) & minimal deviation of the airway. #NeuroWednesday
