Case Presentation
40 yo male presents to the clinic complaining of spontaneous avulsion of great toenail. Patient states that about 6 months ago he was seen by his PCP and diagnosed with onychomycosis; was treated with topical antifungal with minimum results. He states that 3 days ago he noticed that left great toenail was “breaking apart.” No other pertinent medical history or medications. Physical exam unremarkable except for the findings demonstrated in the pic above. Looks like melanoma and secondary cellulitis to the toe.
