Cincinnati Children's Radiology

Abdominal x-ray shows an ingested metallic foreign body. Most ingested foreign objects will pass through the gastrointestinal system without complication. Certain objects such as button batteries, multiple magnets, and sharp objects will be retrieved from the stomach in order to help prevent complications. It is important to remember that we are only able to see the metallic portion of object. #TummyTuesday
