40 yo male comes in to the clinic complaining of a dry and s | Figure 1
Case Overview
Patient Presentation
40 yo male comes in to the clinic complaining of a dry and scaley patch underneath his left eye. He's had it for about a year. He thinks that the area has gotten bigger, and states that the skin is wrinkly and always red. He doesn't report itching or pain. He initially tried applying a steroid cream, but it didn't help. He was maintaining the scaly appearance by applying lotion daily. He also tried an Asian cream that he says is for eczema, which helped initially, but no longer works. He went to see a dermatologist and the NP diagnosed him with actinic keratosis and applied liquid nitrogen. He hasn't seen an improvement since the treatment, which was done about 2 weeks ago.
