Episcleritis?

24 years old patient with known eye allergy claimed about eye redness since already 7 years, treatment with levocabastine, opatanol, naabak and artificial tears didn’t show any relieving of the symptoms during last year.

Only corticosteroids slightly release the symptoms but once stopped the symptoms are back.

This 6-year-old girl woke up in the morning with her left eye stuck. The mother washed the patient’s eye with running water. Throughout the day other symptoms appeared such as itching, burning and feeling of sand in the eye. The examination reveals hyperemia of the bulbar conjunctiva. That’s a 24 years old patient with known eye allergy, all year long, treatment with antihistamine eye drops ( levocabastine, opatanol, naabak) + artificial tears and oral antihistamine didn’t show any relieving of the symptoms. Corticosteroid eye drops show an improvement but once stopped it gets worse.
The patient don’t suffer any autoimmune disease, and the eye redness is already since 7 years.
